The road is OPEN!

We are so excited to see the new roadway open up in Downtown Chester. The construction crew worked tirelessly to bring our street back to life, and they finished 10 days ahead of schedule!

Yesterday afternoon Main Street in Chester was full wtih cheerful faces as merchants, townsfolk and dogs alike  gathered for the commencement ceremony celebrating our newly completed bridge.

However, the most special moment of all was of course the Cutting of the Ribbon. To honor the occasion, they snipped the ribbon with the same pair of scissors used to honor the grand opening of the Merritt Parkway nearly 80 years ago.
